Théâtre de la Ville – Paris
Get up close and personal with the music of the Baroque period, alongside five young violinists from the Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance.
Part of the Chantiers d’Europe programme 2019.
Associate artist of the Théâtre de la Ville and the gold standard of performing Baroque music for violin, Amandine Beyer is also passionate about teaching and passing her expertise on to a younger generation.
Parallel with the two Chantiers d’Europe concerts, Ms. Beyer will lead a masterclass in which five young Baroque violinists from the Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance will be invited to tackle pieces of their choice, and delve further into the quintessential notions of language and performance for violinists.
Ms. Beyer is particularly keen to pass on what she learned from Chiara Banchini:
“She opened my eyes to what really makes a Baroque violinist: the violin has to speak, and articulate its feelings and emotions, just like a human voice does!
