Laboratory of innovation between science, culture, art, and society.
TRACES aims to promote a model of society based on a chosen knowledge, a society where knowledge is an instrument of emancipation and freedom, a choice rather than a tool of discrimination, exclusion and oppression. Based on this premise, TRACES enlarges its scope in covering all areas of knowledge and more particularly the interface-zones between different practices, natural sciences and arts, for instance.
Since 2011, TRACES hosts the cultural activities of Espace des Sciences Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, ESPCI Paris’ and PSL University’s space open to the public. Developed as an actual scientific culture third place, it lies at the border between science, culture, art and society. TRACES is an open space experimenting and fostering exchanges, meetings and common reflections between researchers, teachers, journalists, artists, everybody who might be curious about sciences and arts.
